SN-R18 Magnetic Tablet FAQ

6 questions buyers ask before ordering.

What is the 10.36-inch panel actually good for?

+

It is a 1200 × 2000 IPS panel with in-cell bonding and 5-point touch. The aspect ratio is portrait-first, so an item list, an order ticket or a receipt shows more lines than a 10.1-inch landscape panel, and in-cell bonding puts the touch layer inside the LCD stack instead of on top of it.

Why eight A53 cores here, when the U-series uses A73?

+

The R18 runs eight Cortex-A53 cores at 2.3 GHz; the U10 and U1095 use a four-A73 plus four-A53 layout at 2.0 GHz. The A53 cluster holds a sustained clock on low power, which suits a screen-up-all-shift terminal. If the app leans on UI animation, the A73 pair in the U-series is the better fit.

Is 3GB of RAM enough?

+

3GB LPDDR3 with 64GB of eMMC storage. That carries one Android POS application plus a browser tab comfortably. If the deployment switches between several kiosk apps on the same device, the U10 and U1095 carry 4GB on the same software stack.

Can it take a wired network?

+

Only through the optional desktop dock, which adds one RJ45 LAN port and two USB-A ports on top of its 10,000 mAh battery. The tablet itself is Wi-Fi 2.4G/5G, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.

Rear camera and NFC — what do they enable?

+

Front 5MP and rear 8MP makes the R18 the only tablet in the range with a rear camera, so it can capture a document, a parcel or a shelf label. NFC is an optional external module rather than built in, which keeps the base unit cheaper if the project does not need tap.

How is it mounted, and what does it weigh?

+

The tablet is 452 g and the dock 543 g. The wall dock is an 86-box mount fed by 220V AC or 48V POE, so a wall position needs no separate power brick behind the panel.
